Noel's Bio:

"Hockey has always been a big part of my sporting life since childhood and on my journey, I have played for Stafford, Cannock, Warrington and Rickmansworth Hockey clubs before finally joining Banbury Hockey Club in 1997 at what I thought was the "twilight" of my playing days.

BHC was the start of my "Vets Hockey" playing days, providing me with a new lease in my hockey life - playing, developing and encouraging the younger players coming through the club. On that journey, I have played for all of the Men's teams 1's-5's & Vets XI's.  Probably, I  will be remembered for scoring a few goals one yard off the back post.  Over the years, I have served as captain, manager of the 13-16-year-olds and have been fortunate to be part of 10  BHC promotions. Throughout the years, I have been delighted to be part of the numerous BHC International Vets Hockey Tournament victories and more importantly the community that has been built over the years.

As Club captain for the men's 3rd to 5th teams, my role is to support the team captains, coaches and the development of the young players in all these teams. The values that I hold in my role are: being able to bring players and teams together to enjoy the game of hockey;  playing with toughness, honesty, passion and above all respect for each other and the opposition. Referees, I  am sure,  will  have a chuckle at that."
