Welcome to our club

Dear all,

Welcome to the new season!

Welcome to the 2018/19 season. The last 12 months has thrown up some interesting challenges and it is testament to all our members that we enter into another season, with plenty to be excited about. Our Junior section has again increased the number of sides it is putting out and watching them in action in our festivals last year felt like a watershed moment, when we were for the first time in a number of years, genuinely competitive with the best clubs in the area at all levels.

The ladies section faced a tough year and the number of senior players who have moved onto pastures new over the summer mean that again the sides will have a youthful feel to them. We have a good pipeline of talent and excellent coaching in place. It is time to trust in our processes and im sure we will see significant gains for those stepping up this year. The manner in which this side of the club have conducted themselves over the last 12 months, sums up why this is such a special club and I have no doubt that all of the ladies sides will continue to do us proud on and off the pitch this season.

The Mens First XI regained their place in the Southern Premier league and will be pushing hard for a top four finish this year, which would see them secure a place in the newly restructured National League. It is also fantastic to report that thanks to the tireless hard work of Richard Hobley, we have reinstated our Fifth XI.

We remain ambitious to develop our facilities and will continue to seek partnerships and opportunities to do this. It is not a quick or easy process, but there are some interesting discussions going on so please watch this space.

Finally, we remain at heart a community club and our belief in producing good people as well as players is as strong as ever. For this to happen we need as many committed volunteers as possible. Should you feel there is someway in which you might be able to help us, then please don’t hesitate to make contact.

Matt Bull – Club Chairman

Sport101 was founded with one thing in mind – to help athletes and coaches to reach their full potential. It’s that simple. We too are athletes and coaches and over the years we have experienced some of the very best coaching, and some of the worst. This is what motivates us to be better…better than we were yesterday and better than anyone else.

Through the use of technology, the latest coaching techniques and an innovative approach, we apply our coaching and playing knowledge to enable everyone to achieve the best performance results. From the successful coach hoping to guide their team to another promotion this season, to the aspiring athlete pushing to make the final selection, we want to help you to achieve your goals.

It’s a very good opportunity for our club players, so close to home.
