Piranhas Blister Bicester
MBBO Div 7 Bicester III v Banbury Piranhas
Bicester 1 Banbury 5
The heat was on for this proverbial relegation 6 pointer as the Piranhas visited Chris Paige’s (aka the Scythe) Bicester III’s.
The Piranhas started very well moving the ball quickly and scored with their first attack following a nice move and reverse stick flick by Lee Allen.
Jamal Moursalli was moved up to striker for this week and promptly scored a brace. The first was a lovely move from midfield to top D to right wing with utility right back Noel Britto finding Jamal on the P spot who slapped home. The second was an opportunist reverse stick shot from Top D that found its way into the bottom corner.
Continued good play by Piranhas midfield of Allman , Lewis, Sivell , Simons and Revill created further chances , but no further goals came and the teams turned round with the Piranhas three up.
The Piranhas started the second half as they they did the first and created some good early chances with Ricochet Ralph scoring 2 in quick succession – the first a poach from a Lee Allen flick and the second a well taken deflected goal from a sharp strike into the D.
Bicester came back in the last 15 mins and despite the good defensive play from Henry, Ethan , Felix , Guy , Ady Lamb and Noel Nogoal – scored a consolation goal leaving the final score 5 – 1 and three points in the bag for the away team.
The Piranhas should take note on how well they created space and chances with quick pass and move hockey and need to replicate this for the rest of the season.
