07 Mar 2010 - England Men Book World Cup Semi-Final Berth
European Champions England booked a semi-final berth in the Men's World Cup when they beat hosts India 3-2 on Saturday.
The result means that England became the first team to qualify for the Semi-Finals and they also made it four win from four games after previously beating Australia, Pakistain and South Africa.
The face Spain on Monday (11am on the Red Button on the BBC and on Zing, Sky 789), before playing their semi-final on Wednesday against probably either Holland to Germany

The Men got back to winning ways with a harf-fought 3-1 win over Ashford (Dave Clark, Adrian Simons and George Brooker).
The 2's kept up their promotion push with a 3-1 win over Eastcote (Will Kellett 2, Ian Reynolds) the 3's beat Staines 3-1 (Lee Allen, Simon Holloway and Matt Waller).
The 4's beat leaders Wokingham 5-2 (Roger Mellor-Brook3, Tom Lodge 2, Stuart Armstrong)

26 Feb 2010 - Men's Hockey World Cup - England beat South Africa and face Pakistain on Thursday
England men picked up a a 6-4 win over South Africa and are the only team in their group to have two wins from two games.

The Men's Hockey World Cup starts on Sunday 28th February 2010 in Delhi, India.
European Champions England will be hoping to continue their good form, which saw them crowned European Champions in 2009, and win the World Cup for the first time.
England are in Group B with Australia, India, Pakistain, South Africa and Spain
Group A is Argentina, Canada, Germany, Korea, Netherland and New Zealand.
The England Game are as follows:
28th Feb v Australia - 13:00
2nd Mar v South Africa - 11:00
4th Mar v Pakistain - 13:00
6th Mar v India - 15:00
8th Mar v Spain - 11:00
26 Feb 2010 - Castle Quay Agree Sponsorship Deal
Banbury Hockey Club are delighted that Castle Quay Shopping Centre have agreed to sponsor the club for two seasons, until the end of the 2012 season.
From the start of the 2011 season Castle Quay will be the official sponsor of the Banbury Hockey Club Junior Section.
Head of Marketing Craig Irvine said, "We are delighted to have Castle Quay on board. Their very kind sponsorship will allow the club to invest further in coaching and our coaches as well as look at increasing the training time(s) we have available for our members."

Banbury Hockey Club Annual General Meeting 2010

The Hockey Cub Committee in conjunction with the Hockey Club Board are looking to get as many of its members to the Annual General Meeting as possible.
With this is mind we have moved the AGM to Sunday 2nd May (Bank Holiday Sunday) and the day will involve some 7-a-side hockey that will be arranged before hand both pre and post the AGM.
At the AGM the board will be making an announcement in relation to the five year development plan that is currently being produced.
The teams will be arranged before hand and any extras added on the day to any of the teams.
Eight teams captains will be required (we already have two in place) and they will have to pick their teams before the day, having one player from each of our eight senior teams (Men and Ladies 1's - 4's).
