Banbury however were far from finished, and with Rosie Gowing and Nicola Page endlessly running and Pip Jones and Ruth Tuthill supplying them and Flo Tuthill and Beth Camp with plenty of quality balls, 3 more goals were put away, one to Jones and 2 to Page for her hat trick.
A very good start to the season, and excellent work all round.

Ladies 5 ‘s  v Bicester 3’s  result –  1 – 1 (goal Carla Fickling)

Playing a team already established in division 5 was always going to be a tough encounter, and so it proved , but Banbury 5’s continue to show how they have grown in a season.
With new faces in Alice Heathcote , Caitlin Laverick and Eve Briscoe, the game started a little slowly while everyone got back into the swing of things.
Bicester proved very tough right from the off with good passing and ball pace and Banbury fought hard to  keep inthe game, Frances Clayton,  Natalie Vallone and Holly Brummell (back from her back op) showing how tenacious they have become. The team settled and were eventually rewarded with a short corner, the Alice Heathcote shot rebounding off the keeper to be pounced on by Carla Fickling and coolly put away.
Claire Jeffries took a ball to her hand resulting in  a trip to a&e, but Banbury went in one -nil up.
The second half saw a little more width and ball pace from Banbury, but Davina Miller also ended up in a&e with a twisted knee. Bicester upped the pace and most of the second half was spent camped in the Banbury defensive half, although great runs from Charlotte White and Alice Heathcote threatened to increase the lead.
Eventually a short corner for Bicester saw a rocket shot find the backboard, and despite both sides pushing hard, the result  stayed  1 – 1.
