Ladies 3 pull out an inspired performance against Milton Keynes
Banbury Ladies 3s 6 v 0 Milton Keynes Ladies 3s
Finally … a win …
Following a run of bad form, seeing Banbury Ladies 3s picking up just 1 point from the last 6 matches, BHC were left on the brink of dropping in to the relegation zone. However this week they pulled out an inspired performance against Milton Keynes, moving the Ladies 3s to 8th in the league.
Banbury took charge from the start and controlled the majority of the play through first half, converting 2 goals – the first from Siobhan Steele 10 minutes in to the match and second, a corker of a penalty corner strike, saw captain Becky Lee put the home side 2 ahead by half time.
Moving in to the second half Banbury were determined to make their commanding play pay off and they continued to move the ball around with great interplay. A barrage of second half goals included a slap shot goal from midfielder Hannah McMahon, followed up by a great passing manoeuvre concluding with a Jo McMeekin conversion, a top of the d super strike from Lucy Wilkes and finally a sneaky second goal from Steele who, as her name suggests, stole the ball from an MK defensive hit out, rounded a defender and coolly slotted the ball past the keeper; this took the final tally to 6-0 and gave the home team a very well deserved haul of 3 points. Man of the match went to McMahon
