TCL Div 2
Banbury Ladies 3s 3 v 1 Henley Ladies 3s

Having started the season in poor form, with 3 consecutive losses, BHC ladies 3s have turned the table with 3 back to back wins moving them from last place to 5th in the league. This third win was a big ask as Henley were looking strong at 4th in the league going in to this weekend’s matches. Banbury however seem to have taken on a new confidence and strode in to the lead early as Siobhan Steele’s reverse stick shot was turned in passed the Henley keeper by Hailey Mitchell. Banbury dominated much of the first half, but Henley held a run of possession at about 30 minutes in and managed to deflect home a short corner to take the score to 1 all at half time.

A positive team talk from Jon Townsend reminded the team of how they were performing and they buoyantly attacked the second half. Two great goals from Banbury’s Joanne McMeekin and Victoria Wallington, not to mention a goal line save from defender Cath Clarke secure 3 points for Banbury.

Banbury face 6th place Bicester next Saturday, 2pm at their NOA home.
